The Prayer Of My Heart

God I thank you, for all that you’ve done

For my home, my family, and for your mighty Son

I ask for your forgiveness for my sin and transgression

Lord I come before you with a big confession.

My mind is confused, my spirit is broken.

My heart is listening, for a word divinely spoken:

My body is worn out, because it has been rejected

Searching for the answer, my soul is desperate.

My faith is low, because I seem so neglected.

Many questions are unanswered; and I feel disconnected

Pride holds me no more, my spirit is contrite

I only ask now that you will make it all right.

I’ve heard the others, and their testimonies of deliverance;

How they overcame, with steady perseverance.

Yet, I must say, I struggle to believe,

Because my troubles and heartache have yet to leave.

I know you provide, comfort, and heal

So I’m asking now for the waves to be still;

For restoration, redemption, sight for tomorrow,

For love and joy, relief from all sorrow.

Lord, by your tender mercies and everlasting grace,

Atone my sins, and my transgressions erase.

Clean me thoroughly, and purify my soul;

I ask to be restored, to be made whole.

My heart thirsts for you, my cup is dry;

Lord send your anointing, Your power from on High.

Ignite the fire, set it ablaze in me.

Cleanse my heart, set my spirit free.

This is my prayer, my most humble cry,

Lord, I love you, please don’t deny.

And with all that’s within me, as I rise from my knees

Lord give me strength and wisdom, so that You I may please.
