Society has it backwards,
I've silently noticed it for a while now..
They push you towards makeup and alterations
Seeking to hide your beauty behind a face fit for a clown

They push for perfection in life
Yet hid the fact that it never will be
They told you to silently blend in with the crowd
Yet neglected to tell you that you had a purpose and a voice that was meant to roar aloud

"Do this, do that" and the people of the opposite sex with want to be with you....
Yet they hoped with all their hearts that you would never see everything that made you uniquely "you"

You're beautiful, you're special, you're needed, and you're so very loved
You're also my friend, the helping hand that reached out, when my burden was more than enough

So hold your head up high, for I have always seen greatness in you....
But I must say thank you, for you have helped me to see it in myself too

My love forgive me, for I am not one that likes to be seen...
I was raised by my mother, to always be a king,
To honor my bride, and praise her as my queen
A whore, a bitch, a trick; I will never call you;
Because that's not me, I'm a breed brand new..

I will raise my son, to be greater than me.
I will look after our daughter, even after her prince is down on one knee.
Our kids will live well, able to stand on their own.
They will have the best of both worlds; friends, and peace at home.

They will know how to live Godly,
Honoring and respecting all men.
A life free from scandal, a life of limited sins.

He will make a great prince, and she a fine bride:
they will hold their heads up high, always walking with pride.
Leading them in life will come so easily;
because their greatest role models will be you and me...

My love I am sorry, that we havent met as of yet
but I know that you are out there, so please baby girl, don't fret
when our eyes meet, I will see my future in your eyes,
Upon our first kiss, you will see a pure love in mine.

A love letter

Hello baby girl,
       I've been meaning to tell you everything im about say earlier but I just had to get my words to flow freely, hehe, I hope I can do this without typing a poem. :) I just want to say that I really love you, I have for a while... And it took me a few months to realize my heart wanted no one else... Which was weird because usually I can just tell it all of the reasons it wouldn't work out but for some reason he never let go of you 🙂. With every passing night I would always see your smile before I fell off to sleep and I would always wish you the best in life.... It seems ironic that the more I prayed that you would find someone who would treat you no less than a queen that my heart always fell more deeply for you; fighting back like "Idiot, no one will treat her better than you will!" Hehe, I guess I will not fight him anymore so I'm just gonna go with it and let you know that I'll always be here... And with each day... I'll be at your side... I'll be your strength when you're weak, your comfort when the sorrows compass you about... 💗 Ummm I hope this doesn't seem so cliche but I really like you and I'm so excited that you have accepted me as yours... I'll do my best to make sure you never regret that decision 😊. Oh yeah... I hope you are ok with surprises... Cause.... Well you'll find out soon...

To my princess, mom's little mini me
To our angel, our little sweet serenity
I noticed that you have been noticing the times I have spent with your brother...
Taking him out at night, while you had to stay with your mother.

To the greatest blessing God could have given me
To the smallest bundle of joy that could ever be
I want you to know that I never once forgot about you
I am your father but, your protector too

The times I spent with your brother were to make him into the man I needed him to be..
Valiant, courageous, stable; virtuous just like me
It was rough, he didn't always understand it at first
But he's finally coming around, with joy I am about to burst

So what did that have to do with you?
Baby girl.... Everything!
I was always the Guardian, the protector of my friends and family
But I knew that there would be times when, by your side I could not be

My little angel, so delicate, yet very sweet
When I'm not there, every monster that tries to harm you, my son, he will beat
And the times when nightmares frighten you, my wife will sing you to sleep

It's funny I first thought of my family at the young age of sixteeen,
I thought of all the joys I would experience at the side of my queen,
I thought of the fears I would help you overcome, and all the heartaches I would try so hard to keep you from

I saw all of your faces, sitting in the backseat looking out of the window as mom drove us home
I saw all of us sitting around the campfires telling stories of how our day had gone
I saw our home, I felt the peace that it would bring
I saw us knitted together, as a pride of lions, and I was it's king

And ever since that day, not a day has passed me by when I haven't thought of you
25 years old and I now write this poem for you
Though it may be a few more years before I actually see your face...
The love I have for you now, you will surely feel with my first embrace...

So lift your head my princess, don't let the misunderstandings get you down
You are Yasahiro, in life we learn but we are never cast down
We rise above all obstacles, we walk with our heads lifted high
We spread to others hope, we are little beacons of light

This is to you, I will now show you the answers to life
The secrets that have helped me get this far with a heart free from strife
Listen, learn my angel, with Christ as your all
No matter what comes your way, in life you will never fall

My Confession

"Roses are red, Violets are Blue"

A million poems later, and this is still so very true.

10 years of writing, and now I finally have begin my first poem to you.

Although..... forgive the flaws, this is not what I'm used to!

From strangers to pen pals, then fellow students in class;

From students to friends, and now, we're "besties" at last.

We shared a many of disappointments, concerns, and worries too,

But as I look back I realize, I have matured greatly with you.

I was just thinking, Baby girl it really seems like forever!
Since our first chat, (about Florida's "bipolar" weather).
I was so nervous that day, as you walked up, energetically saying "Hi!"

And yet last night, our chat ended with a long, loving goodbye.

As I sit here typing, I quickly recall every detail,

All of your fears, dark nights, the times when you felt like you failed;

But also the glad times, graduations, the days spent at the mall
And that one daring time, we gave your dad the dumbest prank call.

You see it's weird, I just sat here for 6 hours writing and rewriting this poem
Just to try to make it perfect, every rhyme and every line formed
It was only supposed to say a few words, words held in my heart for so long...
Honestly, it was just supposed to say I love you, and I have loved you since day one!
